Dear Experts,

We are facing one error "no inspection lot can be opened for this material and Vendor with message number QA228" during MIGO transaction.

We have checked the following points :

1) Quality info record : having Validity period and Released qty is OK, below screen shot belongs to Quality info record "status" tab:

2) Material Master is having inspection type 01 assigned and contol key & certifcate we have activated is as follows :

3) Quality plan also available with Goods receipts with usage 05 and Released status 04 and Master inspection characteristics also assigned for the operations.

4)  When we check the QA32 for inspection lots, there are 2 inspection lots already available with created mode. We have tried to convert to released mode, but system is not allowing.

We are not understanding why this problem is coming

Please help in resolving this issue.

Thanks in advance:

Dear Raj

This problem occur due to staus of the inspection lot.

You have assigned staus profile QM_P_001 in Quality Info Record. When lot is created while doing GR it would get the the suitable plan. there may be differnet reasons for that.

So to move the  lot to REL mode change the Status Proile QM_P_001. Make the lowest priority 1 instead of 2 and then GO to qa02 change the staus to previous stage and assigned the suitable tasklist in Tasklist/assisgnment TAB in QA02 then it will go in REL mode.

Thank you Manish for your concern,

As per you, we have changed the Lowest status number in BS02 for status profile QM_P_001 from 2 to 1, but still we are unable to assign the inspection characteristics in QA02. System is showing same error as pasted below screen. Please guide what could be the setting which we need to do or extra setting done.

Thanks for your support.

Hi Raj

You are doing the inspeciton with the help of inspection plan or material specification??

By screenshot it seem that you are doing with mateial specification , so create mateial specificaton with t-code QS61 and then assign it in QA02.

This problem occurs because in QM View of that mateial you have ticked insection with Mateial specificatio but did not create it . Instea of that you have create inspection plan.

So Create mateial specification t-code qs61.

Thank you very much manish,

we have checked the material specification, but no material specifications are available.

Please have the look on the below screen shot for material master QM set up view for inspection type details

We are using Inspection plans rather than material specification since we are not using any batch management.

Please guide us to identify the root cause.

Thanks for your support

Dear Hanumanth Prasad,

Thanks for your suggestion,

We have checked the setting of Default Values for inspection type, in which we could not find the setting of Multiple spec check box.

Could you please elaborate the your idea in setting the customization.

Thanks you for your support.

Hey Raj

In you prev. screenshot in inspection specificatoion tab "material with specificatio is ticked".

It may be the reason that while creating lot in QM View "inspect with mateial specification is ticked" and that time you have not created Mateial Specification. After that some one has changed the tick from" mateial specification "to "inspect with tasklist" for that particular inspection type in QM View.

So to dipslay the changes go to QM view of that mateial for that paricular plant and then ENVIRONMENT->Display Changes

Double click on each chages yoy will get the detials.

Dear Manish,

Thank you very much for your valuable guidelines,

We have cross checked the changes as you said, we have found many changes like Material specification was initially assigned as you said and after that some one removed the tick mark from material specification in QM setup view.

Now the settings are still like above screen shot of material master inspection type.

Now we are unable to make the GR for that material saying that no inspection lot could be opened for this material and vendor.

At present we have Inspection type assigned as 01, master inspections are assigned with Quality plan, Quality info record also available with released qty 80,000 with order qty showing' 0' qty in info record,

We are still not understaing why the error message is coming.

Is there problem with QM control key and certificate type assigned in material master qm view.

Please guide us

Thanks for your support.

Dear Naresh Babu,

Thank you very much for your extensive support.

Whatever you said is absolutely correct.

Observation:

>> Initially the Material specification check mark was activated by some one

>> At that time Material specification is not created in QS6.

>> Inspection plan was created in QP01. But Tick mark was not there in Material master for task list.

>> Because of that previous inspection lots were in CRTD mode.

>> We have created Material specification to that material in QS61

>> in QA02: Material specification has been assigned and sample also calculated.

>> Then Inspection lots became in released mode.

>> For taking material inside for same remaining  PO qty, Procurement quality Control key removed from the Scheduling agreement.

>> De activated the Inspection type in material master

>> GR done and taken to unrestricted stock.

Thank you all for your great involvement and wonderful cooperation/support.

Hi,

if ur lots are created by using the material specification then it can only be under release status by using the CWBQM worklist reassigned the task list and process the UD.

Thanks Sujit,

Inspection lots are in created mode, so system is not allowing to take the UD.

We have checked inspection plan, inspection type assignment= all are OK.

Still we are unable convert the inspection lot from created mode to Released mode.

Is there any configuration setting required to overcome such problems.

Could you please guide me in detail steps.

Thanks,

Dear,

First of all please check whether inspection specfication is assigned in this inspection lot.

Use T-Code: QA03  tab inspection specification.

If inspection specfication is not assigned then check configuration of inspection type and usage define in inspection type and usage defined in inspection plan of the material should be same.

Thanks,

There could be many reason why lot is in created stage ,still check go to qa02 >>Insp Specification

1.Is there multiple plans

2.Check usage

3.Check key date

4.Check task list is released or not. etc

Once task list is attached through QA02 ,you have to take UD of this lot for further processing !

Dear Kamal & Sujit,

Thanks for your kind support !!

>> No multiple plans,

>> Usage is 5 in  both Inspection type and Inspection plan

>> Key date 05.10.2012 (no problem in Key date)

>> Task list is released(QP01)

>> Inspection specification is not getting assigned in inspection lot

>> We have checked the inspection type configuration usage is same in plan and type

We are not understanding why the inspections lots are in created mode, what kind of settings required to overcome this problem.

Thanks

If same task list with same parameters get attach to normal IL ,then it should attach to this lot as well.

HI Raj,

Please check the below settings cause these error:

1. you must first make a usage decision for the open inspection lot. You can find the number of the open inspection lot in the quality information record under Status management.

2.Check the release date, Release Qty active & Relese Qty in Release tab.

3. Cheack the tick on Source inspection no.GR in inspection Control tab in Quality info record.
