How do I restart MDM registered server program *without* restarting MDM

Hi,

We've got an MDM (7.1 SP08) connecting to a PI (ABAP API) via a registered server program from MDM to PI and then RFC from PI back the MDM using that RSP.

The PI recently needing restarting but MDM hasn't re-established the link to the gateway of the PI, hence the RFC no longer works. I know I can just restart MDM and that should be fine, but I wondered why MDM hasn't automatically re-established the link and how, in the absence of an automatic restart, I can manually kick MDM into re-establishing the connection.

I only ask as the repository reload on MDM takes *hours* and didn't want to restart unless absolutely necessary.

Hello Mark,

Unlike windows, its not plug and play. Since MDM s loaded, it wont recognze the changes. After restart only, t wl look for changes.

Unfortunately there is no way to restart MDM without unloadng/reloading since it wll automatcally unload it f you stop the server. Its same as no program can be runnng if we shut down wndows.

hope this helps,
