WM-PP staging and Control Cycles and search strategy

Hi all,

when I have TRscreated by releasing from PP-orders, it may occur that

case A) materials for PSA "A" shall be taken from storage type X

case B) materials for PSA "B" shall be taken from storage type Y

What never may happen, is that IF THERE IS NO MATERIAL in X (case A) it will be taken from Y ( and vice versa)

But, in my understanding, I only have the option for ONE replenishment movement type (319) which I can setup in storage type search strategy table.

with the desired storage type(s).

Or am I wrong and there is a possibility to solve?

Hi Thomas,

WM is a little stupid in this. You only have one search strategy for the stock removal. This is correct.

But think about the storage type reference at the removal strategy.

Having PSA A in SLOC 1000 for stock removals

Having PSA B in SLOC 1001 for stock removals

You can set up this in PP

So the TR for PSA A a will look for stock in storage location 1000 and for B in storage location 1010.

Then the stock will be not be taken from the other storage location and vice versa in case of lack of stock.

If you have the same material in both storage locations, you may need different production versions of the BOM in PP if I remember right.

This also means, that you need to purchase the material for different storage locations.

Then you have the stocks completely separated.

I have done this during several Chinese rollouts in that way to keep the bonded from the non bonded stock.

Many many thx, first of all.

But what is confusing me:

I want to take material from different storage TYPES (WM), you are speaking of storage locations, which are MM-objects.

Another colleague meant - put it in german:

es ist möglich , Indem du fuer jeden PVB /
Schnittstellen - Lagertypen eine eigene WM - BWA anlegst und dort einen
individuellen Von - Lagertypen hinterlegst

Is this clear for you?/ You unserstand that?
