CE VC - Excel data upload

Hi Experts,

I am currently analyzing the solution for end user using CE portal to upload the excel data and transfer to BI. In VC pov,  is it possible to acheive this soluiton as I have read from earlier CE releases that file upload control is not supported by Visual Composer? Does this also valid to CE 7.2 and 7.3?

If possible, kindly share your inputs.

Thanks,

Bobby

Hi Bobby,

check out these 2 links:

http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-1383 - Jarrod mentions file upload via WebDynpro components in his article

http://scn.sap.com/thread/1530460 - this is about BSP page with ABAP upload function integrated via HTML into some VC application

But there is no VC standard functionality for this as far as I know.

Anja

Hi John, Anja,

Many thanks for the inputs, also I have received further updates from our SAP experts that VC doesn't support the file upload contorl or complex services so we have decided to go for Webdynpro approach.

Hi Bobby,

I am glad to inform you that upload data from CSV functionality was developed in VC Development Support group recently.

It is available in 7.31 SP7 and SP8 via Note #1802843.

Please notice that this note has 2 related notes (#1806808, #1820468) that also have to be applied.

SCN article which describes the new functionality will be published soon.

Thanks,

Talia

Dear Bobby,

did I understand right that you have BI and a portal in use?

There is a very nice solution: search for 'How to... load a file into BI integrated planning'.

Best regards,

Hans John
