How to make the follow up material works?

Dear Experts,

I have created two materials, item001 and item002. They both have no BOM.

I set in MRP4 Plant Specified View of Item001 that it is discontinued and item002 is its follow up material.

In stock, there are 100PC of item001 and 100PC of item002.

Now I create a reservation on item001 and request 150PC. The system gives me a warning that the material is effective-out, I ignore the warning and save the reservation.

After MRP Run, I expect the system should somehow re-assign the reservation such that it will first consume the 100PC item001, then 50PC item002. But the result is a PR is created after MRP Run and suggest me to buy item001.

How should I configured such that my expected scenario will work?
