ADS doesn't work

Former Member

Hello,

I've problems with ADS.

I read in the blog

/people/dezso.pap/blog/2007/01/10/common-problems-with-sap-interactive-forms-by-adobe--part-i-

And I noticed that my system has the following symptoms:

Symptoms
- The standard test report: 'FP_TEST_00' or 'FP_CHECK_DESTINATION_SERVICE' "hangs". It runs enendless.

- There are NO files (n)or directories located in the "/usr/sap/<sid>/<instance>/j2ee/os_libs/adssap/XMLFormService" folder. Maybe the complete: "/usr/sap/<sid>/<instance>/j2ee/os_libs/" folder is empty.

But the causes don't take place in my system:

The whole Java AS is at SP level 10, also sap.com/ADSSAP (ADOBE DOCUMENT SERVICES)

(Or sap.com/ADSSAP has a counter 1000.7.00.10.0..... and com.adobe/* have 705.2006.... )

Has anybody an idea?

Thank you and regards,

Tommaso

Hello,

A very common cause is what is listed is the non supported plattform.

Can you please detail what CPU and OS does the system have vhere you have installed the ADS?

Is it listed in our PAM:

http://service.sap.com/PAM

Hello Dezso,

Thank you for your reply.

I was in the PAM and my system should be supported, doesn't it?

System:

Windows 2003 x64

DB MaxDB 7.6

Hello Tommaso,

unfortunatelly not yet. x64 processors are only released in combination with Linux.

For Windows only 32-Bit CPU's are supported at the moment.

Please read SAP note: #925741 about a possibble workaround.

I am sorry to give you this negative answer.

Hello Dezso,

Thank you for your reply.

Is there any place where I can found out if the support is planned?

In the PAM-Excel-File I didn't found anything about it.

Best regards,

Tommaso

Hello Tommaso,

unfortunatelly, we can not give you an exact date yet. But is planned to be supported within one of the upcoming SP Stack.

Hello again,

is it possible to use the ADS Print forms on one SAP WAS Java from 2 different SAP Systems?

Or must I install one ADS for each SAP System?

Thanks in Advance

Hello,

basically you can use the same if your SAP Systems and the WAS JAVA are from the same release. /* NW04 or NW04s all of them */

If you use a common ADS please try to keep the SP Stacks close to each other.

/* Big difference in SP level can cause problems */

Dezso

Hi Dezso,

Do you know of any SAP notes that mention sp11 fixes the 'FP_CHECK_DESTINATION_SERVICE' issue or supports x86-64 windows platform? Thanks!

Hello,

unfortunatelly you have to install a separate JAVA as onto a supported plattform and attach this ADS to the current landscape. It is not possibble to run ADS on your current Machine.

Kind regards,

Hello!

After posting to the forum, but before receiving the answer I've rechecked the /patches at service.sap.com and found that the exact patch you mention is available (it wasn't taken into account when using support package stacks download and I forgot to manually check).

Pity that it's not very clear from PAM PowerPoint presentation from what SP current function is available. Or am I just missing it somewhere?

Still, thank you very much! Hope this info can also help others.

It is nice to know that our planned all-new ERP2005SR2 installation can now run run on one 64bit platform. ))

Is ADS working on Windows x64 as of ADS SP11?

NetWeaver's PAM definitly shows current compatibility of ADS with x64, but my recent test installation of NW2004s SR2 was not successfull in that aspect.

Even after deploying ADSSAP11_0-10003001.SCA package the problem is here.

Can you help?

Hello,

the ADS is supported for x86-64 Windows as of SP11 Patch 1. Please download the SP11 patch 1 release of ADS and deploy it. After this you should be able to configure the ADS.

Dezso
