Batch split issue during automatic batch determination.

Hi Gurus,

could you please advise.

We customized Batch Determination on Delivery level. And when we create delivery we have automatic Batch Determination but system split one item for one Batch (see screenshots below). Is it possible not to split Item if there is only one Batch which is fit to conditions? From my point of view, if we have only one Batch available for the item so Batch should be specified directly on Item level, not on sub-item level as you can see below.

Please advise.

Hello Maria,

that is normal working of the system.  The scenario is that, when the batch determination is carried out, the batch split item will always be created, regardless of the full quantity being fulfilled with the one batch.

The reason for this is due to possible changes to the delivery quantity in subsequent processing. In your example, the delivery quantity was 3, but if this was changed to 6, the batch determination would need to be carried out again for the remain quantity of 3.  For this reason, the split item is always created.
