Hi,

did you install the HANA client also?

in the ODBC Admin where you defined the ODBC connection can you connect there?

do you get the error in Data Services or the ODBC Admin?

Hi Sridhar,

If you are getting this error message when setting up a connection in the ODBC Manager you could try he Hana forum:

http://scn.sap.com/community/hana-in-memory

You can see from the ODBC return codes 08S01 simply is a message that mentions that the ODBC driver is trying to access the database and a function did not complete.

http://www.easysoft.com/developer/interfaces/odbc/sqlstate_status_return_codes.html#08S01

So the next steps for you are:

0) Post a message in the Hana comunity.

1) Is this a VMWare machine? Loads of entries for that in Google.

2) Is there more information in the ODBC trace? You can activate that in the ODBC manager.

3) Network Sniffer to see if there is any network interruption.

You have the working Hana Client connection to compare to and perhaps you network guys can help you.

If this happens at the ODBC configuration though it does not look like a DataServices issue.

Norbert
