System copy for Solman 7.1

Dear Experts,

Greetings...!!!

We have to copy our Solution manager 7.1 system to the new hardware with the same SID and instance number.

Can anyone tell me what are the post copy steps i need to perorm.

As my OS, Database, SID and instance number are not changing(only the hardwarechanges), should i reconfigure my solman system from scratch(i mean from basic settings)

Please suggest me on this.

Hi,

If you're going to keep the hostname and IP address (I suggest to do it) try to take a snapshot and restore on target system. What is your OS&DB?

But my host name and IP is different and my OS is windows and DB is SQL server.

Hi Huseyin,

I have read this document. in this he didn't give the Solman specific post steps.

So i want to know any care has to be taken after copy to achive the same configuration as in the old solman.

I suggest to go through the configuration again as the IP and especially the hostname is going to change.

Especially the Java part is mostly affected during hostname change.
