1) Where can I get information on the init<SID>.sap parameters?

2) I would like to know how changing 'exec_parallel' will effect my backups.

3) What are the positive/negative effects of increasing this parameter.

Hi,

You find all the init<SID>.sap parameters described on the SAP help portal (http://help.sap.com). Best way to get to the information is to open one of the NetWeaver areas and then typing the name of the parameter in the search box. The help topic on exec_parallel will probably answer your questions 2) and 3).
