Emailing of SNC alerts not working (alert type = 7051)

Former Member

I am using SNC 7, and am using the standard PO collaboration scenario.

I have an alert selection using alert type = 7051 (new PO item), for which I have an alert notification profile set up, which is specified to use message channel = email.

When a new PO arrives in SNC, I see the alert.

But no email is generated.

Can anyone advise on this?

Thanks...

Hi,

Can you check entry in SOST in you APO system.  If email is getting generated then you should find and entry there.

Also, look for the ANOTPULL program run Job log in SM37 to verify if the data is getting picked up or not. One clue is if the job run is taking fewer seconds or minutes then like the Variant setup in SNC alert Monitor is have a glitch.

Can you try this in your test systems\ send your Alert Monitor setup Variant.

Thx

MJ

Hi,

Can you check the email ID you are using to get the e-mail alert in Alert Notification Profile and the one in SU01 for that user is same..

Hi,

In your alert profile change the minimum priority to information.

Nikhil,

Thanks for your reply.

For alert type = 7051, I have priority = Information, and I have min priority = Information in the alert notification profile.

I have tried usinng 'immediate' and 'periodic' notification.

If I use 'periodic', and look in SLG1 I just see that process started and ended. Is there a way of seeing which emails were actually generated by the periodic pgm (/SCMB/ANOTPULL)?

Hi,

Can you check transaction code: SCOT whether any email alert entries are there or not.

Nikhil,

I see no entries in SCOT.

I am thinking about the following:

1. Should the message channel be Email (Direct) or Email (via Alert Monitor)?

2. Is a particular authorisation required to be specified for the email recipient user?

Thanks for any further advice on this...

Hi,

Select email direct and check whether basis system setting is correct or not.

You can check my sending mail from SAP INBOX to external email id and check.

Nikhil,

Yes, I had a probem with SAP Connect.

I now have emails working.

If I wanted to include some extra information in the email, for example PO document number, can this be done? I see that in the help text for message profiles there is mention of being able to include various parameters in the email, but it's not clear to me how this is supposed to work.

Can you advise further here?

Thanks...
