Use of message profile in SNC alerting

I am using SNC 7.

I have created a new message profile via trans /scmb/anotmp for the AMON application.

But when I try and assign this message profile to the alert notification profile, the system is defaulting to the SAP std SAP_COLL message profile, and does not allow me to select my newly created message profile.

Can anyone advise me on the way forward here?
