Standard planning procedure 4

Dear experts,

What does it mean if we maintain standard planning procedure 4 (Planning in the planning run), the system do not automatically plan a product immediately but rather during the next net change planning run using a heuristic?

Is it mean when we plan the product A low-level code, the system will resehedule the date/time for firmed planned order product A?

SAP_PP_002 is standard heuristic in planning procedure 4. In the setting, we can retain the operation date. How does the setting effect/impact to the system?

1. It means that unless you execute MRP planning in APO (SAP_PP_002, SAP_MRP_001...) the product will not be planned (ie. no planned orders will be created to match existing shortages). You can execute MRP either on netchange mode or regenerative mode, it does not matter. With planning procedure 3, the product would be planned automatically when the planning situation changes (ie. new sales order, changed sales order...)

2. In the context of planning procedure 4, if MRP is executed in APO dates will normally given by APO and ECC will not change them if you configure OPU3/OPU5 the right way. Ask a PP consultant for the right settings for preventing ECC from changing APO dates.

thanks,

J.
