AEX & ABAP Proxy 6.20

Hi Experts,

does anyone know if it`s possible to use ABAP Proxies on an AS ABAP 6.20 together with the SOAP Adapter on the AEX (7.31 in my case)?

What makes me doubt is that in the SOAP Adapter we can only select the "XI 3.0" message protocol, but the 6.20 ABAP Proxies seem to use message protocol "XI 2.0", see http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw73ehp1/helpdata/en/85/78af1bf407434796aaf8dbd6d4e7b7/frameset.htm

Would be nice if someone could confirm if it works or not...don't want to install the add-on just to find out that it doesn't work.

This is not possible. A 6.20 system can be accessed only be integration engine, not be adapter engine.

The SOAP channel does not support xi 2.0 protocol which is required for accessing a 6.20 system.

SAP PI developers seem not to be aware, that many customers still use 6.20 systems. 😞

thanks a lot for your answer! Will use RFC then, it's just for a demo right now using Process Orchestration.

But you're right, in landscapes with 6.20 ABAP systems this would be a good reason to still go for a dual stack PI in a real project.
