pi7.31 idoc metadata in java only scenario

In PI7.3 there is an option like Idoc Metadata Monitor.

Monitoring Home-->Monitoring-->Adapter Engine-->Idoc Metadata Monitor.

Any idea, what is this option about ? and what is its use ? There is also an option like preload/delete.

When will we need to preload and when to/why to delete idoc metadata ?

When you load/ Import the metadata (IDOC ) from the ECC  to SAP PI. The meta data automatically loaded. If the same got changes sometime it might not reflect immediately at that time it is good idea to delete & import manually
