Hi everbody,
I did like to know the case of blackberry deployment BES and non BES in BO 4.0 SP4. As we have upgraded our current system from SP2 to SP4 , there are no VAS and VMS in the Central Configuration Manager. We also came across a document in help.sap.com
Please can you give us some insight on blackberry deployment using MobileBIservice.war
Warm Regards
Sushant
Hi,
Thanks for giving me insight, but in the Blackberry BO App Connection settings we used to give VAS port 11011. But as there are no VAS and VMS now, should i give the 8080 (default Tomcat) port there?
Using Blackberry simulator (MDS enabled) i have tried using 8080 port, but it does not work out ? Firstly JVM error comes and then "Unable to connect to mobi server (MOB10410)"
In case of using Blackberry(without BES, MDS) How do we proxy the authentication port(we used to do it using wizard in SAP BO 4.0 SP2)? What should be the approch in this case?

Hi Sushant,
If you download the new app which will be available once you access http://Server:8080/MobileOTA14 you will come to know that there are no settings as such now
you just have to enter the details
server URL: http://server:(tomcat port )
cms name: name of cms
authenticatin: enterprise
thats it
instead of MDS can you try with actual blackberry device to check this

Hi Sushant,
The Deployment scenario in BI 4.0 SP4 has changed,
As you noticed they have removed VAS and VMS and mobile configuration utility tool .
This is to ease the process of connecting your devices with the server.
be it ipad/iphone/android or blacberry.
blackberry does not have a store, to get the application, so it comes with Business objects itself.
go to <bo install dir>/Mobile14/
search for MobileOTA14.war file.
deploy this war file in tomcat6/webapps
once done, you need to access http://server:8080/MobileOTA14 from your handset.
this will prompt you to download the application for the device
once done, 50% is achieved.
then, open the app, add the connection details, like CMS details, port, authentication for administrator and password.
Thats it.

Sushant,
The mobile deployment of Blackberry has gotten much easier now. First you need to deploy the 3-Mobile related WAR files is stated in the Admin Guide, see below.
http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/boexir4/en/433_mobiOS_admin_en.pdf
Once ALL the WAR files have been deployed you need to simply go to your blackberry device and type in URL to Server:
http://<SERVER>:8080/MobileOTA14/
Follow the link to download mobile for Blackberry.
