How to Upgrade Netweaver 7.0 to 7.3 in BW server

We need to upgrade BW netweaver 7.0 to 7.3 dual stack (JAVA+ABAP),  we used solution manager MOPZ to download the software 7.0 to 7.3. upgradation toll used SUM sp05

All download packege upload into /usr/sap/SID/trans/EPS/in directory and strat the upgradation during extraction phase, it asked to mount the kernel DVD. Below the message we see on the screen:

Enter mount points for the DVDs required for the procedure

Enter at least the mount point containing Kernel DVD for OS WINDOWS_X86_64 and Unicode

The requested data carrier is not mounted on any of the mount points you entered.

Please find the attached screen shot of the error,  soPlease help to resolve the problem.

why is asking the DVD for  Language DE "german"?

Please provide the download link of above DVD , i am not able to find out the location of DVD.

BW 7.3 Upgrade Language DVDs are named as

51043284_14

51043284_15

51043284_16

51043284_17

It is asking for EN and DE as they are the default langs in all SAP systems. So they've to be upgrade to the 7.3 too

Hello

For your information you need to upgrade to 7.0 EHP1 first and then upgrade to 7.3 otherwise your upgrade will fail.

About your error, check your server's regional settings set to English (United States) and also check system locale is set to English (United States) too.

Regional setting are OK, can you provide the document for Netweaver 7.0 EHP1 upgradation before Netweaver 7.3 upgradation?

MOPZ not calculate the NW 7.3 Kernel for download, It means NW 7.3 kernel package need to download the saperatly from market place for Netweaver 7.3 upgradation.

I think the language DVD is

Installations and Upgrades -> A - Index -> N -> SAP NETWEAVER -> SAP
NETWEAVER 7.3 -> Upgrade -> Windows -> <db version>

It should be something like:

51042309_15 NW 7.3 Language 1/4
51042309_16 NW 7.3 Language 2/4
51042309_17 NW 7.3 Language 3/4
51042309_18 NW 7.3 Language 4/4

Please make all the checks as following:

- the path cannot be over 20 characters
- different mount points paths need to be used for each cd
  for example - users/sapcd/LANG1
              - users/sapcd/LANG2
- directory name should not contain any space
- needs to be copied to local disk
- SPAM needs to be updated to the latest version
- SAPup needs to have the latest version
- tp and R3trans need to have the latest version
- also ensure that there is no authorization issue with the directories

Especially long paths can cause issues where the dvd is not found.

you mean say i need to download the  51044252_4NW 7.3 kernel DVD saperatly from market place and copy into C or D drive and provide the path.

Please provide the Ins.Master, Upgr.Master WIN x64bit media number.

Hi,

51044252_4 is the media number. It does seem like this is the dvd which the tool is asking for.

Download it and point the tool to this to check if this is the one it is looking for.

Have you already downloaded the NW7.0 Kernel DVD for windows x86_64?

You need to point the path to the root directory of

the media. Then you need to donwload the export dvd and point the

path.

I believe the media number is 51044252_4 NW 7.3 Kernel,
Inst.Master, Upgr.Master WIN x64 64bit
