Availability Time Planning Issue

Former Member

Hi All,

I am working on PI 7.3 SP0005, dual stack version.

We have scheduled a communication channel to be available daily at 9:00 pm for an hour.

It worked fine for a while, but now its polling the source directory even outside that one hour window, though channel status says 'stopped'.

I have referred note 1071144, but the solution prescribed is for XI 3.0 and PI 7.0.

We have tried a cache refresh, deleting/re-creating availability rule but to no avail.

Please assist.

Thank you,

Regards,

Rakesh.

Hi,

Please make some dummy changes in your comm channel in ID and then re-activate and also create the availability schedule and then check if your channel is working correctly.

Thanks for the reply Naveen.

We have tried that too.

We deleted the ATP rule, made change to the source directory, saved and activated the channel.

Now there is no automatic control, only manual and the status says 'Stopped'. Yet the channel is polling the source directory and correctly throws an error: 'Exception received: 3: cd to XXXX1/ failed.'

Please advise.

Thank you,

Regards,

Rakesh.

Hi Rakesh,

Do you mean channel is still polling even if the channel is stopped?

Yes Naveen,

That is what is happening now.

That is really strange. You might restart your java engine.

Also you could try going advanced properties in adapter and set it to "inactive", save this change and activate.

Then check status again in RWB and also look in NWA default trace for extra clues.

Hi,

If the system restart doesn't work then raise OSS.

Thanks

A Java Engine restart fixed the issue. The channel has stopped now. Will wait until it is 9 PM EDT to check if the ATP is working or not.

Thanks for the advise.

You guys are awesome!

Rakesh.

If after Java Engine restart this problem persists then can you copy the channel and check the copied one is behaving same or not.
