apply patches EA_APPL 605 from patch 06 to 08

Hi Gurus,

i got requirement to update only EA_APPL 605 component from patch 6 to 8 level.

present system is at ERP 6.0 EHP5 sp6 level.

i have calculated stack for it. but i want to know which way is best SAINT or SUM?

i want to do it fast so which one is fast method?

please help me?

Hi,

copy the required SP Files to you /usr/sap/trans/EPS/in directory and run SPAM Transaction, we have updated our Ehp5 to 08 with it without any errors.

Hi Raja,

This depends on you current EA_APPL Release

For example in above case: EA_APPL Release is 604 and Patch level is 11 If I want to upgrade EA_APPL to Release 604 and Patch Level 14, I will download Patch 12, 13 & 14 from SAP Market Place and Use SPAM. In this case you no need to run MOPZ no Stack.XML file is required.

If EA_APPL is in lower version say Release 600 Patch level 50 and you want to take it to EA_APPL Release 604 patch level 11 then you need Stack.XML file to do upgrade.

In this case you can use either SAINT/SUM.

SUMMARY:

You are doing upgrade to Same Relase but different Patch level, SPAM is good enough.

Different Release then you need Stack.XML file then SAINT/SUM is good. If you have good experience with SUM....go for it....or else go for SAINT which will straight forward.
