LOCATION CPIC (TCP/IP) on local host with Unicode- Different IP

Former Member

Hi All

I am trying to connect SAP system from Backend to GRC. But I am getting this error:

Connect to SAP gateway failed
Connect_PM  TYPE=B MSHOST=<correct IP> GROUP=PUBLIC R3NAME=SID MSSERV=sapms<SID> PCS=1

LOCATION    CPIC (TCP/IP) on local host with Unicode
ERROR       partner 169.254.124.107: SAPGW00 not reached
TIME Mon Oct 15 21:55:23 201
RELEASE     700
COMPONENT   NI (network interface)
VERSION     38
RC          -10
MODULE      nixxi.cpp
LINE 2823
DETAIL      NiPConnect2
SYSTEM CALL connect
ERRNO 10060
ERRNO TEXT  WSAETIMEDOUT: Connection timed out
COUNTER     2

I have checked for services file all entries are correct. The error is strange because the IP of my server is correct (where I have mentioned as Coorect IP) but in error it is trying to reach different IP.

Please suggest from where it is taking this IP and how this can be resolved.

Best Regards

Saurabh

Hy,

first of all IP adress starting with 169.254 is a private IP adress.

So if you are not facing dns name resolution errors or else take a look at :

Note 1365796 - Local host name
resolution fails in Windows Failover Cluster

Hi

I have changed the IPs in SMLG. GRC system got connected now.

Logon groups are referring to change(correct IP), but still the instance is referring to wrong IP.

Please suggest how this error (IP of instance can be updated/changed)can be corrected.

If profile parameters hostname is maintained, which is correct.

Hi

This IP belongs for our logon group.

I got details by:

lgtst -H <hostname>-04 -S sapms<SID>.

Please suggest how can we change this IP to the relevant one and also how it can effect our Prd environment.

Hi,

Check in transaction SMLG in the SAP system, if the PUBLIC logon group is also associated with the correct host/server.

Hi

I have no idea from where it is picking up this IP or to which Logon group it belongs to.

I have attached images for SMLG Tcode.

The same settings are there for DEV system, and it is running fine.

Hi,

Don't you know to which server/pc is this ip belongs? Is it belongs to the GRC server?

Hi

We don't have this IP defined in our network.

IPs for servers start by 10.0.1.XX..

I have no idea from where it is taking this IP>
