Hi All,
When interating XI with an SAP system,
How to decide which adapter to use from IDOC and RFC?
Thanks.
HI,
if you have a dedicated IDOC --> prefer IDOC
if you have a dedicated RFC -->prefer RFC
If you have nothing dedicated:
a) do you want sync or async communication
--> async prefer IDOC
--> sync prefer RFC

Hi,
you can also consider to use ABAP Proxy if you are working with Systems based on SAP Web AS 6.40.
Here some useful links:

RFC support synch processing but Idoc support only asynch processing. If your requirment is to a synch processing, then going for RFC. If a standard Idoc is available and your requirment is asynch, then Idoc will be a better choice. If your SAP system is on a WAS of 6.20 or greater and if load is going to be high then go4 proxies
