Hi Anuvrat,

Is your server is a virtual server? If yes, if it is taking IP address from DHCP, maybe wrong IP is set for hostname in hosts file.

Can you please check it?

Also check if server can ping itself from command prompt.

Hi Huseyin,

No, Its not a Virtual Sever.. Its installed on my laptop.... Not on any VMware machine...

Please check your hosts file (windows\system32\drivers\etc\) whether you set an IP address to your host. IF yes, please change it to your current IP address (I guess the one in hosts file is different from your current IP).

To find our your current IP address, open a command prompt and run ipconfig to display your ip address.

Hi Huseyin,

There is no entry of IP addresses and host in the HOSTS file for my machine. The entries which I found were only related to the SAP VPN Servers like:

155.56.39.150 connectwdf06.sap.com #ADDED BY F5 NETWORKS SSL TUNNEL - ORIGINAL RECORD#

155.56.39.150 connectwdf06 #ADDED BY F5 NETWORKS SSL TUNNEL - ORIGINAL RECORD#

203.13.146.32 connectblrl01.sap.com #ADDED BY F5 NETWORKS SSL TUNNEL - ORIGINAL RECORD#

203.13.146.32 connectblrl01 #ADDED BY F5 NETWORKS SSL TUNNEL - ORIGINAL RECORD#

There were no other entries.

Thanks and Regards,

Please check the DEFAULT.PFL file for parameter rdisp/mshost (Profile file is under usr\sap\<SID>\SYS\profile)

IF this is your PC's hostname then add your current ip and hostname into hosts file like

<ip address>  <hostname>

And open a command prompt to ping your hostname. Then restart your SAP server from SAP MMC

Hi Huseyin,

The DEFAULT.PFL file is

SAPDBHOST = INLN50787298A

j2ee/dbtype = sap

j2ee/dbname = C73

j2ee/dbhost = INLN50787298A

SAPSYSTEMNAME = C73

OS_UNICODE = uc

SAPGLOBALHOST = INLN50787298A

system/type = J2EE

SAPFQDN = dhcp.blrl.sap.corp

SAPLOCALHOSTFULL = $(SAPLOCALHOST).$(SAPFQDN)

#-----------------------------------------------------------------------

# SAP Central Service Instance for J2EE

#-----------------------------------------------------------------------

j2ee/scs/host = INLN50787298A

j2ee/scs/system = 01

j2ee/ms/port = 3901

and there is no parameter rdisp/mshost here. And I am able to ping inln50787298a from the command prompt but I am not able to ping inln50787298a.dhcp.blrl.sap.corp.

Thanks and regards,

Anuvrat

Please post your SAP.MMC screenshot

Please post the ocntent of dev_ms under \usr\sap\C73\SCSnn\work and also the stderr0 to stderr4 (some will be empty, so skip them)

I suggest you to put

<ip> inln50787298a inln50787298a.dhcp.blrl.sap.corp

line into hosts file, restart system and try again

Hi Huseyin,

My system is configured with DHCP so when I wil boot it again the IP would get changed.

can't you set a static ip? SAP Systems should be using static ip

Hi Huseyin,

Actually this is my development system and here all the personal systems have dynamic IPs.

Hi Huseyin,

I was able to edit the hosts file after connecting my VPN and the server got started.

Thanks a lot for bearing with me and solving this problem.
