Hi all,
SAP ...> PI ...> third party
at the time of system shut down or down time(third party system) the messages are failing in PI system.SAP side the messages are process through back ground jobs( automatically).
avoiding the errors:
1.have to change the automatic to manually at the time of down time activity.
2. have to do the down time activity in the low business impact hours.
have any possible ways to avoid the down time error in PI system.

I dont know of any possibility to avoid errors with PI when the 3rd party PI system is down.
The only way to mitigate the impact of the 3rd party PI system being down is to arrange when it will be down ahead of time and as you say, switch to manual and avoid running PI jobs during the downtime.
Is this scheduled downtime for applying fixes etc or unscheduled system failure?

yes there is now possible way to avoid when the system is down.
switch to manual and avoid running PI jobs during the downtime.
weekly once They planning to do the down time activity. some time it will twisea a week. every time it is not possible to switch to manual again automatic. ( the background job switching activiy done by BASIS people)
