Dear friends,
I wanted to know the difference between RPSCO and COSS tables In terms of the values they store majorly, also appreciate if provide some info on the other cost tables like COES,COEP, COSP and COSK in terms of their usage for various values.
Thank you,
Regards,
Sumanth
Hi Sumanth,
RPSCO is a master table. The data stored in this table is against value categories. You will also get the plan cost in table RPSCO.
In order to look project cost based on CE* , we shall use COSS/COEP table.
Generally, whenever we plan cost against WBS, NWA, we use COSP/COSS table to cross check the data.
In addition to that , check the below given link to know about other tables:

Hi Sanjeev /Tushar /Ankur,
Thanks for your responses.
Keeping reference of your inputs, I have below doubts and once again require your help.
1. 1. COSS - Internal postings – please let me know an example for Internal posting? (is it posting from one to GL to other? Or cost center to other?)
2. 2. COSP – External postings - please let me know an example for External posting? (is it posting from GL to Vendors? Or cost center to Vendors?)
3. 3. Does values stored in PRSCO, would also be available in COSS and COSP?
4. 4. Assume there is a Capital project, then which table would normally be used?
Regards,
Sumanth
Hi Sumanth,
COSS table is updated for every posting made with secondary cost elements.
COSP table is updated for every posting made with primary cost elements.
Please refer following thread

For tables used in Capital project, please refer below links

Hi Sumanth,
Most of your queries are aptly answered, i guess.
Note that RPSCO is the master table and it holds all types of costs. COSS, COSP & COEP are exclusive table that only hold data for a particular type of posting.
Remember, in case you wish to develop a report and fetch some values you can always use the RPSCO table as it contains everything you need. You can filter data in the RPSCO table based on value categories and value types to fetch the required values.
I would rather say that values stored in COSS, COSP & COEP are also stored in the RPSCO table.

Gokul
Hello,
I met some problem about the definition of COSS and COSP based on the cost element type.
Posting by KB15N using both primary and secondary cost element, you will find both balances in COSS, and none in COSP.
So the definitions of internal and external posting are more apporpriate.

Thanks, very useful information.

Hi Sumanth,
RPSCO table contains all the transaction data i.e Plan,Commitment, Actual etc. which is required in Project systems.
Check below mentioned link
http://www.se80.co.uk/saptables/r/rpsc/rpsco.htm
COSS table is used to store Cost totals for internal postings.
Please refer following threads for other tables.
