Hi experts,
We want to run SNP optimizer in Daily buckets for two weeks.
However we want to ensure that when a product is planned, it should atleast produce for 3 days.
We are trying to achieve this by cross period lot size planning.
We have maintained set up operation in However we are facing problems.
1. If we maintain minimum lot size as 3 days, system does not plan anything. even when cross period tick is maintained in Resource master and Optimization profile (Discrete constraints tab and integration tab.
If we maintain minimum lot size as slightly less than one days quantity, system creates planned order every day. but consumes set up time with every order resulting in reduced production quantity. So the functionality of cross period lot size does not work. Meaning, it does not schedule only one set up operation for consecutive orders. It takes set up operation with every planned order even when previous bucket is using same PPM. If we see the costs, the fixed costs are counted with every planned order.
In resource master next to the tick there is an option of No cross period lot size planning/cross period lot size planning. If we maintain cross period lot size planning in this field, optimizer gives error "PPM cannot be executed" and a suggestion that we increase the bucket length. If we maintain "No cross period....." optimizer runs but desired results are not obtained
Has any one worked with this scenario?
Thanking you in advance.
