Encountered problem in CTS. Only file system transport mode is possible.

Hi

We are using Solution Manager Sandbox Server (SMS) to configure the CTS+. SMS is dual stack server (Java + ABAP). Target is to transport
the SAP Portal contents between SAP Portal Dev System (EPD) to SAP Portal QA System (EPQ).

As per SAP document, we have configured "CTS Deploy Web Service (SAP NW AS Java)", "CTS Deploy Proxy (SAP NW AS ABAP)" and " Transport organize
Web UI (SAP NW AS ABAP) in the dual stack system (SMS).

While creating the transport request for Portal contents, users are getting problem "Encountered problem in CTS. Only file system transport
mode is possible".

In EPD, following RFC (NWA -- Destination)has been created that is pointing to SMS server. Ping is working fine.

check on the RFC destination sap.com/com.sap.tc.di.CTSserver.

In SMS, RFC HTTP destination "CTSDeploy" has been created nad it is working fine.

Pls suggest to fix this problem.

Hello Amarjit Nagi,

We recently had a problem in our development Enterprise Portal when we tried to export a package in a transport request using CTS+

The error message was: "Encountered problem in CTS. Only file system transport mode is possible"

To solve the problem we had to go to the Transport Organizer, and set the Preselect Request flag to a transport request. Notice that in the Preselection tab you can set the Preselected status for different users. The user with which you are trying to export the EP content has to have a preselected transport request.

Hi again,

We had the system parameter:

WBO_GET_REQ_STRATEGY with value TAGGED

To avoid having to select a preselected transport request we changed the that parameter value to SMART and the transport request was created automátically.
