Prevent Duplicate customer creation in sap sd

Hi Experts,

My SAP user created customers with same name & address. So now I want to prevent him creating duplicate customers. Please Guide me how I can achieve this in configuration ?

Hi Shakti,

In addition to other replies if still your issue not solved with SAP standard you can go for ABAP Development.  We also had this problem for that we have done some development, we have incorporated CR.NO. Field in Cusomter master.

When ever creating a new customer, system will ask the CR.NO. this number will be unique for customer to customer so that we can restrict the duplication of the customer master data.
