Hi Team,

Can you please wet me know when we go for DXC on BW on HANA? Are the Generic FM extractors are DXC, if not what  difference when we go for thich.

Hi Vijaya,

DXC is to be used only with stand-alone HANA. Using DXC, one can extract data using BI extractors created in SAP source systems into HANA by leveraging the BW component with the netweaver stack. It works with all types of extractors, not just FM extractors. Having said that there are a select few extractors (the ones that have non-cumulative key figures) that are not yet supported by DXC - there is a SAP note you can read on this.

For BW on HANA, the existing mechanism of extraction from SAP source systems should continue to be used. No DXC for BW on HANA.

In short, DXC is  a data extraction interface that  enables SAP ECC data extraction on near real-time basis using SAP BW extractors (aka data sources) available within SAP ECC without the need for SLT or Data Services directly into SAP HANA. A standalone BW system is not required.
