Hiding Required Fields using Page Customizations

Hello Everybody,

I wanted to hide a system-required field from the UI using page customization. We are on wave 9.

Since this field is defualted to a particular value by the system I am sure that this field will always have some value in it. By my logic, I should then be able to hide it from the UI but still I am not.

Can somebody please validate this if this is a standard behaviour?

Hi Devesh,

I have had the same requirement before and found no way to hide a required system field, even if it is populated by default.

I think this is standard functionality.

Daniel is correct, system required fields can't be hidden via Page customization.

Have you tried first try to remove the Requiered property??

What if you set that field 2 times in the page customization:

1. Requiered: NO

2. Hidden: yes..

Hope this work for you. Because i Think i did this but in the 5.1 version. Im not 100% positive but i think it may work...

Thanks for the inputs. What you are telling is true only for extension fields. We were talking only about system required fields.
