Dear All,

I am new and the only one person in portal development team in my current client project.

Here they are having a lot of Local DCs developed in NWDS.

And now they want me to move those DCs to a track.

Actually, I faced a lot of issues while configuring NWDI here, as this is the first time for me to do it.

But somehow done it.

Now, I am trying to move the DCs. But I am not clear about the process/steps ?

So, Please could anyone help me out in this??

I wish to know the step by step process for moving the Local DCs in to newly created track.

and also if there any points that I have to follow / recheck before moving them??

Please help me out.

Regards,

Anu.

Hi all,

My CE version is 7.0. And here I dont have any option to move the Dcs directly.

Anyways,

I got the process how to move. But not exactly understanding... Like which should be done first.

Below is the reffered document.

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/42/c8204dd57f136fe10000000a1553f7/frameset.htm

Followed all the steps in the doc. But, what are the stpes to work with and move the project to quality and production servers??

Also, I am having a doubt.

Suppose My local Dcs are in aaa.com domain, and are in production portal.

Now, if I create a new Dc in a track(as specified in the above document) with aaa.com domain and copy my packages from my local DC which is also under aaa.com domain....,then should I create a new Iview and again move to production?? Or will it overwrite the existing one???

If it is the case, that New Iview has to be created again, then I have to go along a long process. Like as there are around 120 iviews, I need to create 120 Iviews again and check all the dependancy roles and have to do rigourous testing and then only it can be processed.

But as per my customer, the requirement has to be closed in 2 days. Is there any other option to achieve this?

Cheers,

Anu.

nwdi will help to move the stuff to qa and prd.

if you keep the name unchanged, no new iview need.

it is hard for a newbie to finish it in 2 days...

what's your version of nwds?

in ce7.2+, you can right click dc and select "Move...." in the popup.

Dear Jun

"search-yourself"-like posts are not necessarily helping.

If you add a post and you have some docs and links on your mind, then please provide them.

Thank you and keep up the good work!
