Archiving custom objects

Hi All,

I need to do archiving on the  presales support for Archiving custom objects. Let me know if anyone is having any relevant experience on how to create custom archiving object,  program  to write, and  delete the data , read data in archived system etc.

Hi RAM,

Normally, Archiving Z Tables with Z Archiving Objects are supported and done by copying an existing AO. SAP says, do not create custom AO's without our involvement.

So if you've good developers who also knows about archiving, why not to try.

Our customers normally backs up Z tables with custom methods. Example to this is like createing annual tables and moving all records belonging to that year into this table. Like

ZTABLE1 is the main table and ZTABLE1-2011 contains records of 2011. ZTABLE1-2010 is for year 2010 and so goes on.

Hi Rama,

Before Archiving you need to have the following things in place:

1. Content Repositories

2. Content Server

3. RFCs.

After this you can start archiving. The following link can give you some info of how to create custom objects:
