Conversion Indicator gets removed in ECC during Planned to Process Order Conversion in APO

Dear Gurus

During Planned to Process order conversion in APO, the conversion indicator gets removed in R/3 (which by default is checked).

This primarily happens for the SFG products (but does not limit to).

What could be the possible reasons?

DB

Hi DB,

Please tell me more details about

1. how you create the planned orders, which transaction, in APO or R/3;

2. in which transaction you convert them

3. Are they converted successfully. If not, any error log

Hi Tiemin

The Planned orders are converted from SNP Pl orders using heuristic in APO.

t code - /sapapo/cdpsb0 (we run through the process chain).

We put the mass conversion indicator in /sapapo/rrp4.

The orders for which conversion indicator throughout exists in R/3 get converted. Orders, for which Conversion indicator gets unchecked in R/3 don't get converted. And for these orders, the conversion indicator check box in rrp4 also gets greyed.

Something surprising is that, if a manual planned order is created, it gets converted to process order.

Hi Dilbagh,

Could the planning strategy of the materials for the orders not getting converted be different from the ones getting converted?  For example, planning strategy 50 or 52 will not let you convert an order unless there is a sales order for the material.  I know you said the non-conversion is happening for SFG materials but it is worth a check.

Hi DB,

It's quite unexpected that there is no error.

Better to isolate the conversion run from your process chain and convert one by one if possible. You can switch on detailed logging to see what's the difference between a manual order and a heuristic order,  order from SFG products and other kinds of products.

Hi Dilbagh,

Check the settings for your order type.  Also, ensure that you have a work scheduling view on your material master.
