Hi Sarah,
Check if sap service is running propertly: from start -> run -> services.msc
If sap service is not starting you need to recreate using sapservice: run SYS\exe\uc\NTAMD64\sapstartsrv .exe
and put the right profile ,system number and SID. If you don't put the right start profile.
Cheers

If you changed your <SID>Adm password than this problem can occur. Then follow Sargans instruction. In the service there is a Logon tab. There put password for related account for the service.
thanks,
Asad

Hello Sarath,
heck the following files from the work directory:
- dev_disp
- dev_ms
- dev_rd
- dev_w* (w0, w1, w2, etc....)
- stderr*
- profiles
- result of command:"sappfpar check pf=<instance profile with path>"
Did you have any changes in the system recently?
regards,
Paul
