Plant De-activation | How to do?

Hi All,

Please advise on how to go about this.

Some plants in our system are created to honor certain contracts, these plants exist(operational) only for the life-time of the contract. As soon as the contract expires, the Plant ceases to exist.

After the expiry of the contract with the customer, no transactions should be carried out by the plant.

  1. I can think of certain (not-so-good) approaches such as:
  2. Removing the Company code plant assignment or Removing the Sales organization-Distribution Channel-Plant assignment.

Is there a better approach; has this been addressed by SAP Best Practices.

Thanks.

I think this not addressed by SAP Best Practices?

I did a bit of search and came up with these links / options:

  1. Authorization object M_MSEG_WWA.
  2. MV45AFZB USEREXIT_SOURCE_DETERMINATION but this is only from SD perspective.
  3. http://scn.sap.com/thread/1835178
  4. http://scn.sap.com/message/9885397
  5. http://scn.sap.com/thread/1373920

Hi ,

As said by you is correct Process.

Please remove 1. Remove Company code -Plant Settings

                        2. Remove Plant -Shipping Point Settings

                        3. Remove Sales Area -Plant Settings

Thanks,

Hello,

Yes. Option no. 2 (Removing Sales Orgn - Dist Channel - Plant assignment) seems to be the best approach.

If you remove the assignment of plant from Company code, then this will create some reporting problems in future.

Thanks,

Removing the Sales organization-Distribution Channel-Plant assignment.

In my view the above option seems good.
