We would like to implement SRM using the classic scenario. However, the classic scenario uses MM workflow, and the workflow is not as flexible as SRM

Is it possible to use SRM workflow in the classic model.?  Can SRM Workflow be used, or used for approvals only?

If so how would this be done, and are there any significant impacts in using the SRM Workflow in a Classic scenario. All responses are welcome.

Hi,

In classic scenario from shopping cart PO is created in ECC directly. Shopping cart approval can have the flexibility as you mentioned which is called process controlled workflow.

In ECC, process control workflow is not available.

So it is only application control workflow which is possible in ECC. So PO in ECC can not have the same flexibility like that of SRM.

In SRM both process controlled and application controlled workflow feature is available.

Hi Guys,

Workflows at ECC are not the SRM WFL. And they need to be configured at ECC.

All documents created at ECC will not have SRM WFL ( this is not possible). SRM WFL is only possible for documents created at SRM. Thus AC and PC WFL are only for SRM documents.

The ECC WFL belongs to BC-BMT-WFM.

Hello,

either in Classic or in Extended Classic, SRM Shopping Cart (when manually created in SRM) has a SRM workflow.

I do not inderstand your question.

According to the Decision matrix we were given from SAP, when using SRM in a classic scenario, we are using standard SAP MM workflow and leveraging back end ECC

The workflow in SRM is deemed more flexible.

Therefore we are wanting to know if SRM workflow can be used in the classic scenario of with leverages MM.
