SAP PI Message Archiving for Adapter Engine

Hi Experts,

Just have a small clarification as I couldn't correctly get the details from previous posts and SAP Help. Do we need to configure Message Archiving in Adapter Engine, if we have already configured it in Integration Engine. SAP PI version is 7.1. As far as I understand because in the Adapter Engine message is archived in a different table (BC_MSG) than IE and persistance happens at both the stacks in classic PI scenarios (non-AAE), we should be configuring this separately at AE. But documentation for AE archiving points to a link which mentions to configure it only when AE is set as the component for monitoring.

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi711/helpdata/en/48/0dd8f0d6013d1be10000000a42189d/frameset.htm

So, in short the query is Is Archving at IE suffficient or do we need a separate archival configuration in AE as well.

Best Regards,

Pratik
