IM- Cost and Budget related queries

Dear friends,

I have below queries related to cost and budgeting in IM, please help me with the same-

1.   1. Can we do cost planning in IM, if yes what is the t-code.

2.   2. If cost planning is done in PS, can we copy the same values to Budgeting in IM?

3.   3. Cost planning in PS and Budgeting in IM – Is this is a correct scenario?

4.   4. Last one, can we create a project in AR and derive it in PS? Or vice – versa.

Hi Sumanth,

Please go thru help.sap of IM, all your doubts will be solved. Basically IM program positions will be assigned to PS WBS. Initially cost planning will happen in PS WBS and will be rolled to IM positions. Then in IM cost planning will be converted to budget. Last this budget will be passed from IM to PS. Go thru IM SAP menu, you will get related tcodes. Hope this gets you started.

Hi Sumanth,

Shrikanth is right go through the document. However to add to it,

1. Cost Planning can be done in IM and shall be moved or used in WBS. Investment Measure shall have the WBS link.

2. Actual Cost can come from MM/PP

3. Budget can be allocated at WBS level in Investment Measure component.

4. AR forms the basis for Planning & Approval. We can create Project(WBS) at Investment Measure level.
