Can we do System Copy for ECC and restore back-up for PI?

Hi,

In our landscape we have ECC, PI, and some others

While upgrading from SP4 to SP7 we noticed some differences between development, and QA. Some other problems were there too.

Now the plan is to make a full system copy for ECC and PI from PROD to QA, then redo the upgrade, to make sure that we do not encounter same problems at Go Live.

For ECC this is OK, but for PI i would need to do a lot more work to restore QA to its original status, with lot of risks involved and uncertainty as to the time that is required.

We do have a backup of PI QAS from before the upgrade.

So my question is: is it possible to do System Copy for ECC, while at the same time restoring the backup for PI?

In my opinion, If this is only a support pack upgrade absolutely....

Thx for the answers.

We have done the system copy of ECC in combination with the restore backup of PI. So far it looks good.

Hi Robert, Yes... It is possible..

May be you need to consider.. it should not send any idocs or messages thruogh proxy to PI system while you are in setup phase of PI still..they may fail.
