DXC Connection: No IMDSO or table created in HANA schema

Former Member

Hi

Iam configuring DXC (Direct Extractor Connection) for a simple scenario. I followed configuration steps mentioned in DXC manual regarding HANA Studio, RFC connection, entries in RSDADMIN....etc.

After activating datasource on ECC system, replicated and activated in RSA1 (embedded BW of this ECC system). But after activating, no IMDSO/ tables are created under relevant schema in HANA Studio.

My current patch is
ABAP-702-Patch 06
BASIS-702-Patch 06
SAP_AP-700-patch 22
BW-702-patch06

But note 1583403 - Direct extractor connection to SAP HANA says
i need BW 702- SP09
is this the cause of my problem?

Also to update SP09 BW package, i also have to update ABAP, BASIS and Application package?
what are the packages should i have to import before BW update.

Pls advice.

regards

Hi Chandra,

Instead of going for SP upgrade, try note 1583403 - starting from Page5. Simply do these 'manual pre-implement' steps then try DXC extraction.

Hello Ahmad

Thanks for reply.

Hope you also had the same problem.

I can see page 5 having 4(2+2) tasks like below.

you mean i have to undergo all 4 tasks?

it looks like most of them are trying to create Messages in RSDS class.

just wondering how this solves our problem.

Can you tell me what package did you use to save for checkpoint RSDS_HDB_PUSH?

1-Call transaction SE91 and create message 236 in the message class
RSDS with the following short text:
Data package &1 saved to remote SAP HANA DB
2-In transaction SAAB, create the checkpoint group RSDS_HDB_PUSH with
   the short text "Trace CL_RSDS_HDB_PUSH=>SEND"

3-In transaction SE91, create the following messages in the message
   class RSDS.
600: Error &1 occurred during HTTP call for destination &2 (see
    long text)
601: Error &1 occurred during HTTP communication to &2 (see long
    text)
   602: Error in the HANA DB system: &1 &2 &3 &4
603: Send confirmation to SAP HANA database system
604: Confirmation sent successfully to SAP HANA database system
605: Implement SAP Note 1688750 in source system &1.
4-In transaction SAAB, create the checkpoint group RSDS_HDB_PUSH.

-> task 2 and 4 are same

Hi

As you said, i have implemented above steps.

But still i cannot see the IMDSO tables under DXCSchema.

I have not created infopackage yet..

i recheked the values in table and RFC connection.

In table RSADMIN i have below values
PSA_TO_HDB : GLOBAL
PSA_TO_HDB_DESTINATION: DXC_HANA_CONNECTION_H01
PSA_TO_HDB_SCHEMA: DXCSCHEMA
PSA_TO_HDB_DATASOURCETABLE: ZDXCDATASOURCES

RFC DXC_HANA_CONNECTION_H01 connection test is OK.

I created Generic datasource from table SFLIGHT and in RSA1 i replicated datasource and change-activated successfully... no errors.

Anywhere to troubleshoot the problem.

pls advice

Hi Chandra,

our basis guy did these inputs as I've only display rights.

If tasks are repeating with same configs. then can simply ignore.

Package used: RSDS

pls do let me know if this works for you

Hi Chandra,

there is a reason I asked to let me know if this works for you.

Our basis guy suggested that for him I was easier to do these inputs to see if the problem is solved. Since for me it is not, now I'm waiting when they do the upgrade which would then enable me to recheck this issue.

please see post: http://scn.sap.com/message/13552484

Everything is according to guide and DXC is working for other ppl I know. I have checked everywhere but no solution

If you get this working then pls share your exp.

Hi Ahmed

sorry i was confused.

Does the manual preimplement solved the problem, and displaying IMDSO table in HANA studio?

when i click activate button for datasource, its creating BIC\<Datasource table>. i can see in status bar.

but when you see the tables in HANA, its not displayed..Is there any place to check the error happenings or monitor the problem?

Hi Chandra,

Manual imp. didn't work for me, now waiting for the SP upgrade to check if it works.

@BIC tables are being created: there is a table M_EXTRACTORS which you check for monitoring. pls read sapnote_0001670518 for monitoring

HI Chandra,

thanks for detailed update.

For consistency we've for ECC, an admin user with SAP_ALL. If you have changed Agent= ur user then you should have sap_all autho.

For inbound, pls try with

Partner type: LS (logical system)

partner role: empty

message type: RSINFO -BIW: Info message via OLTP selection process

msg code: empty

msg function: empty

Process code: RSIN - BW: Info IDoc (Status) from Source System

User id , pass error: check when you created RFC connection for DXC in ECC system, that username/pass is consistent (in RFC connection and on HANA side)

user for DXC purpose I mean

if anything new, pls update me.

Hello Ahmad

Thanks for reply.

That problem got solved by adding RSRQST in outbound and

RSINFO,RSSEND in inbound parameters

Also i changed the ALEREMOTE password.

finally I get succeeded and everything is green in monitor and HANA table also filled with data.

But when i do it again with different datasource, its failing at last phase but datas are saved in HANA. when i say M_EXTRACTOR view it says PHASE with ACTIVATION. its not CONFIRMED status.

Monitor screen

Overall status:Error occured or missing messages

Request Everything OK

Extraction Everything OK

Transfer IDOC everything OK

Processsing Everything OK

Subseg.processing(messages):errors occured

->send confirmation to HANA database system

->Error in HANA DB SYSTEM

I remembere this error message is created by me while following manual preimplement the notes.

I dont understand why only first time get everything green..i have not changed anything after that...

any clue how to troubleshoot. i can only see below mesage whin click display message

Message no. RSDS602

Its good that at least it worked once

on ECC side, you can check log files, dumps, or background job for any further info

on HANA side M_EXTRACTOR; I am not sure

For me, I'm waiting for SP upgrade then hopefully it works for me as well.

For the time being, could you pls send me settings that you have (see below) from WE20 for ECC system:

Agent: I'm useing ECCAdmin user who has SAP_ALL

Outbound parameters: RSRQST

receiver port:

IDoc type:

Inbound para:

RSINFO - further details

Process code:

RSSEND  - further details

Process code:

Finally, you mentioned changing password for ALEREMOTE. In which partner (in we20) are you using it?

I am currently checking if on basis side there is any problem in settings

Hi Ahmad

RSRQST

Recieve port:A000000043 i created one.

IDOC type RSREQUST

RSINFO

Process code RSIN

RSSEND  - further details

Process code:  RSDR

I changed ALEREMOTE password for RFC destination used in PORT WE21

I still have that above error. SAP OSS recommended below note to implement.

But i wonder why the data was success at first time. after second time execution it goes error.
