Hi,
I have a requirement to setup a ads server in my landscape. I have gone through several documents in sdn and understood that we need to have dual stack or java stack system to setup and we need to configure several things in java and abap. Just i wanted to know are there any seperate stack do i need to install on java stack? If yes kindly let me know the componenents.
Hi Kranthi,
The document provided above is the standard one for ADS configuration and has detailed instructions including some checks before the configuration.
In case you have ABAP systems in your landscape, you may use your Solution Manager system for the ADS configuration and then proceed with the configuration of ADS destination from your ECC system.

Please go through the following documents/links to configure ADS .
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi711/helpdata/en/37/504b8cbc2848a494facfdc09a359b1/content.htm
As mentioned above , you need an SAP NW AS JAVA system which provides the ADS service.

Hi Kranthi,
ADS comes out-of-box with NW AS Java. No need to install any additional usage types.
Here is a simple scenario:
NW AS Java : (contains ADS server inside it by default)
NW AS ABAP based application like ERP 6.0 communicate tyo ADS on Java stack using http type desination called "ADS"
If you think my post helped please give me some points. 🙂
Best regards.
