R3trans -d giving error:2EETW169 no connect possible: "DBMS = ORACLE--- dbs_ora_tnsname = 'DEV'"

Hi Gurus,

We have ECC 6.0 IDES System present with Oracle 10g as Database and Solaris 5.10 as Operating System.

System ID is "DEV"  and Operating System Users are DEVADM and ORADEV .

We did kernel Upgrade and after that when i try to execute command R3trans -d then getting error like:

This is R3trans version 6.14 (release 700 - 26.10.11 - 13:00:00).

2EETW169 no connect possible: "DBMS = ORACLE                           --- dbs_ora_tnsname = 'DEV'"

R3trans finished (0012).

Oracle database is Up, Listener is Up , SAPOSCOL is running and only R3trans -d is not working ; hence startsap command is not working fully.

Checked in the Forums but not getting exact solution for my problem.

I am

pasting the error part of "trans.log" file here.

I think there is problem with Authentication as it is seen in the log file.

Requesting to help here how to resolve the issue.

Use sapcontrol -nr 00 -function GetVersionInfo command to verfiy , kernel and dbsl files are of same patch .

paste the output.

moreover excute tnsping <SID> , also and paste the ouput.

Please read Note 1576837 - ORA-01017invalid username/password;

Even i reseted the passwords but no luck.

What this mean? What did you do?

Hi Roman,

I have gone through the note and tried to reset the password of SAPSR3 schema owner and even reseted the password for "SYSTEM" user and tried command R3trans -d but getting the same error.

Now for testing purpose i checked to connect to database using user "SYSTEM" and "SAPSR3" with the new passwords which i reseted and it is connecting in both the cases.

Please find the same:

Please read the solution for scenario B in note 1576837. You need to syncronize passwords in SAPUSER table with SAPSR3 user password. If you do not use this method then the password will not get updated both in the oracle dictionary and SAPUSER table.

Run

brconnect -u system/<password> -f chpass -o SAPSR3 -p <password>

to synhronize.

Hi Henry,

I dropped table SAPUSER and created again and inserted SAPSR3 and respective password.

Then i restarted the database and tried command R3trans -d but still facing the same error.

devadm> R3trans -d

This is R3trans version 6.14 (release 700 - 26.10.11 - 13:00:00).

2EETW169 no connect possible: "DBMS = ORACLE                           --- dbs_ora_tnsname = 'DEV'"

R3trans finished (0012).

Please delete all records from SAPUSER table and use brconnect command provided before:

brconnect -u system/<password> -f chpass -o SAPSR3 -p <password>

Please provide actions output.

Still invalid username/password? sometimes it turn into account locked, if it is locked, just unlock it. then try login manually in sqlplus using SAPSR3 & its respective password. do R3trans again.

Please try to run oradbusr.sql and sapdba_role.sql. usually the issue with connection to Oracle with R3trans related with this two scripts.

oradbusr.sql is in note 50088 and sapdba_role.sql is in 134592.

Hi Sujit,

The script oradbusr.sql and sapdba_role.sql do a lot of things related with SAP connection to DB.

Because all checks here are indicate no issue with SAP Connection to DB.

After those scripts if still got an issue, then I believe the problem resides in something else.

Also one thing, could you run this command one more time:

select username, account_status, lock_date from dba_users;

I am not sure why suddenly you lost connection to synonym file of SAPUSER.

Run this sql comment too:

You should get these two:

1)  check whether oracle parameter REMOTE_OS_AUTHENT = TRUE is set, I had this problem for one of my systems and also

2) Eensure env variable dbs_ora_schema is set correctly.

Hi Sujit,

Please check whether database files present in global as well as local path are same or not.

This error is due to mismatched DBSL files in local and global path. Check from profile parameter for correct path of local and global kernel directory. I faced same error 2 days back.

Please check the ./disp+work from <sidadm> user in both global kernel path as well as local kernel path.

Have you put correct DB SAR file in kernel? Seems some DB kernel files mismatching.

please check dbsl file patch in both directory as well. because error seems to be in oci_execute_stmt which is related to DBSL files.

I went through the note and maintained parameter "os_authent_prefix= ops$" in initdev.ora parameter file and restarted the databse but when i execute R3trans -d again geeting same error.

Thank You for your quick response.

As per the note i maintained    Parameter "os_authent_prefix= ops$" in initSID.ora parameter file and restarted the database but getting the same error again.

Also checked  SAPUSER table exists in the database and OPS$DEVADM User also exists in the database.

Any other suggestions please..
