In TM the execution status of the freight order, booking order or freight unit is updated according to the event that has been sent to TM from EM.

For example, when the last expected event is reported from EM, the system sets the status of the corresponding freight orders to ‘executed.

Does that mean that our EM status is closely linked with the execution status in TM?

Also does our EM status influences the life cycle status of TM.

since I have answered your question already in the LinkedIn Group "SAP Transportation Management", I will just copy my answer here:

The events reported have direct impact on the TM execution status. And through this it has also an impact on the TM lifecycle status, e.g. the lifecycyle status of a freight order, for which execution tracking is enabled in the customizing, will only be set automatically to "Completed" if the execution status is "Executed" (and other prerequisites are fulfilled).
