Reservation happens when requirements are transferred from SD. This happens in transfer of requirements. So you should do your configurations in Transfer of Requirements. That is a simple way to say it, But you really have to look deep into the requirement class on what kind of customer requirement you want to drive and into which module. If yuou look a tthe Transfer of requirements you have the answer for your question. You will need lot of patience to complete the configuration without any mistake.
