Hi Experts,
Since line items in RFx, MA are not extensible, but line item specifications have been provided as a way to achieve this extension, I have a few questions on line item specifications:
1. Are there plans to make the line item extensible?
2. Are there plans to allow creation of different types of specs like table-type line item specifications, etc?
3. Are there plans to include line item specifications as variables for contract generation?
Thanks in advance for your inputs.
Regards,
Subhasini
Hello Subhasini,
As you described, Line Item Specifications and Supplier Entered Attributes are the way to customize line items. Support for Extensions on line items is not planned. There are no plans for new types of Line Item Specifications or Attributes.
The good news is that Line Item Specifications can be used as variables in contract generation. Create a variable by selecting collection member “MA_LINEITEMS”. Within it, create a Sub Variable and select collection member “BUYER_SPEC_GROUP”. Within it, create a Sub Variable and select collection member “Group Specifications”. Within it, create Sub Variables to select the specific fields of the specification which you need to pull into the Contract. A similar approach can be used for Supplier Entered Attributes.
Best regards, Dallan
