SNP: SNP-PlannedOrders without a planning run ?

Hello experts,

we are investigating in APO-SNP an issue where a lot of products got SNP PlannedOrders / Receipts (ATP Cat = EE) without any obvious reason.

* it is in one specific location where we don't run any SNP or PP/DS plannung processes in APO - neither Heuristics, nor Optimizer nor CTM.

* the only active process is GATP check in this location from ERP R3 + BOP runs every day.

* the SNP PlannedOrders have a "PP-fixed" attribute (can not be changed by a planning run anyway) and are of ApplicationType 4 (SNP based)

* the SNP PlannedOrders are not transfered to R3 since the publication model is not activated for this location (which avoids bigger trouble)

What are other potential sources of getting SNP Planned Orders as receipts elements in SNP in a location where no active planning process is applied ? Any hint where to start searching is welcome !

Regards

Thomas

Hi Thomas,

Your problem is truly peculiar and challenging! SNP planned orders can be generated without running any of the planning engines using Time Series Propagation (SOP). Check if the planning area 9ASNP01 or a Z-planning area that is a copy of 9ASNP01 is active for the abovementioned location in your system. Additionally, check if there is batch job with an existing variant for the transaction /SAPAPO/LCIN (Time Series to Order Network) for the said location.

The only other reason that I can think of is some kind of configuration setting in GATP that triggers an SNP planned order in case of an availability shortage for the said location. Not sure if this is the problem in your case.

Thank you,

Regards,

Jagjeet.

Hello Jagjeet,

thanks for the reply. The GATP check potentially forcing a CTP trigger might be one valid source of Planned Orders - others have been checked as you outlined with no result.

I'll check the GATP customizing ... but would CTP truly create SNP PlndOrders or shouldn't they be of tyep PP/DS PlannedOrders ?

Hello Thomas,

Yes, ideally they should be PP/DS planned orders. However, if the orders go beyond PP/DS horizon then CTP may create SNP planned orders if SNP horizon is defined...Not sure about it, however, could not think of any other reason here! Additionally, PP-firmed that you mentioned in the answer about orders also points to this direction.

Jagjeet.
