base unit quantity conversion

Hello Community,

I have a R3-System which is connected with an APO system (only Demand Planning in use on APO side).

Now, base unit quantity in R3 should be changed to "piece". In APO nothing should be changed, so we plan with another base unit quantity in APO than in R3.

Then, via transferring the planning data from APO to R3, a conversion to R3 base unit quantity should be done.

My question: is this possible?

If yes, were do I have to realize this conversion? In APO or in R3 or is both possible?

Hi Heinz,

The conversion factor should be maintained in the R/3 material master and transferred to APO via CIF.

Then in both APO and R/3, system should be able to convert from one unit to another and vice versa.
