Hello All,
I have searched the forum and also read on some of the posts posted on availabilty check, customer requested delivery date, however as per customer requirement
If a sales order consists of two line items and for each one of them the customer requires two different delivery dates, then I put the requested delivery dates in the header which got copied to both to the line items, next when I went to the line item of one of the items the system allowed me to change the requested delivery date however the second line in the schedule line should now get calculated based on the changed delivery date given by the customer, however that is not changing, I tried to rerun availability check also but the system proposed delivery date does not change, could anyone let me know if this date does change and if yes how?
Kind Regards
Atul
Ensure that once you changed the requested delivery date in the second line item, you hit the "Enter" key. Without hitting this key, if you just check in schedule line, no changes will happen.

Hi Noel,
Please find the same attached.
1) Creating the sales order for two line items, customer wants different delivery dates for both line items and the sales order should be the same, as per the system the requested delivery date is entered in the header as shown below.
Next as per customer requirement I am changing the customer requested delivery date for the second line item in the schedule line category
Now I am pressing enter the second schedule line which is the system proposed schedule line category is not changing it remains the same, screen shot attached, ideally this schedule line also should get changed based on the lead times which are proposed from the material master.
As a result of which the system proposed delivery date does not change again in the schedule line category
Kind Regards
Atul
Initially, you have a requested delivery date = 27th September. However, the system cannot confirm on this date as there is no available quantity. Therefore, the system confirms for 10th October [you would need to view the ATP overview in CO09 to see why this is the date with an available quantity]. The second schedule line is created because there is no availability on 27th Sept but there is on 10th October.
When you change the requested delivery date to 30th September, the system executes the availability check again [you can see this as the availability control screen is called]. However, there is no available quantity before 10th October. So the system leaves the second schedule line at 10th October [i.e. the system determines 10th October as the nearest date with an available quantity]. This is the correct system response. If you want the system to change this date, you need to add stock or create a receipt earlier than 10th October....
Hope this helps.
Hi Noel
Thanks for the detailed reply appreciate the same, I have one query when the date is changed from 27th Sept to 30th Sept as per the lead times defined in the material master the second date should also change which is 10th October as per the system the same should change to 13th October, since there is no stock available, however if I do a goods receipt before 10th October then the system will throw a date before 10th Oct, my query is after doing the availability check the system should propose a date after 10th Oct.
Noel,
I had raised this issue with SAP, pasting the reply.
this can be the case but it must not be.
When the system caries out a forward scheduling then it can be also
the case that the confirmed delivery date will not be postponed.
Let us assume you have maintained a transit time of 3 days.
The requested delivery date is 15.10.2012 and the end of the
replenishment lead time is on 20.10.2012.
The system first carries out a backward scheduling. The material
availability date is determined on 12.10.2012. So this date is in the
past. Therefore the system starts a forward scheduling from todays date
and determines all other dates. So this means the material availability
date is set to todays date. ATP check determines that today nothing is
available and so the material availability date will be set to the end
of the replenishment lead time. So MBDAT is on 20.10.2012 and the
system carries out a forward scheduling from 20.10.2012 and determines
the new delivery date on 23.10.2012 (3 days transit time).
When you change the requested delivery date to 18.10.2012 then nothing
will happen. The material availability date will be still on
20.10.2012 and so the delivery date on 23.10.2012.
When you keep this situation and you carry out a new atp check tomorrow
then the situation will change. Tomorrow the end of RLT will be on
21.10.2012. It is always shifted. So the material availability date
is on 21.10.2012 and the delivery date will be on 24.10.2012.

Atul
