PPM 5.0 with ECC 5.0

Hi,

I would like to know if anybody has worked on / working on PPM 5.0 with ECC 5. Is there any limitations with bringing financial data in PPM from PS Project. Unlike ECC 6 I see there is no config node under mySAP integration which helps to config. controlling area, exchange rate, value types etc. Whether this brings any impact on ECC 5 integration with PPM.

I don't want to limit the discussion till finance only. Please share if you are aware of any other impact of having PPM with ECC 5.

Hi,

In the integration between SAP PPM 5.0 and SAP ECC 5.0 unfortunatelly only works the financial data integration.

Hi,

Thanks Jonatan for your reply.. its not easy way to have PPM with ECC5

Finally I am working on integration scenario of PPM with ECC 5.0. I see lot of functionality limitations with ECC 5. The biggest issues are with financial integration. ECC5 doesn't support the multilevel controlling as well as CATs integration.

Pramod

Hello Pramod

The note 1377104 outlines the requirements for PPM 5.0.

there is a lot of information in the   Reference to related Notes

As to which  support Pack to implement, This should be done by the

Maintenance Optimizer when upgrading

MOPZ is designed in such a way that it reads the system and it will
include the higher compatible version files of the addon.
So CPRXRPM is upgraded to 500_702.
MOPZ will automatically calculate the files required during upgrade.

And the addon must be upgraded when a higher compatible version is
available as per the addon development team. .

I think note  1589409 explains this

I hope this is of some assistance

Hi Gerry,

Thanks for your reply.

These notes and information talk more about ECC 6 and EHPs. I am not getting any reference wherein it gives some clue about requirements of having ECC 5.0 with PPM 5.0.

Hi Pramod

I belive the configuration is pretty much the same between releases

you can check the  the Master Guidefor SAP Portfolio and Project Management 5.0.

The Master Guide is available under:  http://service.sap.com/plm-inst
-> using SAP Portfolio and Project Management 5.0

Please also refer to SAP Note 1406591 which also contains information
about important configuration steps.

hope this is better

Hi Gerry,

Thanks for your inputs.

I am really not worried about config part. My query is more intended towards understanding functionality gaps if there is any due to having PPM 5 with ECC 5.0 and technical limitations.

For e.g. There is limitation with system for defining exchange rate type for the financial data in PPM system if we integrate it with ECC 5 system.

Likewise I want to understand any other functional / technical gaps with PPM system ECC 5 integration.
