Bank Reconciliation Statement(BRS) for incoming cheque payments in FICA

Hi Experts,

As per our business requirement, for any incoming cheque payment from any consumer, we post it to a bank clearing account. If that cheque gets dishonoured at a later stage, then the clearing account that is selected (while posting returns through Tcode FP09) is also the same bank clearing account. The transfer from the bank clearing account to the actual bank GL is not taken care of , as per our design. But there is a requirement of BRS at ISU FICA end for all these incoming cheques received from consumers. Is there any way to take care of BRS at FICA end for incoming cheque payments?

Thanks in advance,

Anwesha.

Hi,

To enure that the activity is recorded in FI-GL, use a dedicated Cheque Returns Clearing account in FP09.

This wil get transferred separately to the FI-GL, in addition to the original incoming cheque that was posted to the incoming cheque clearing account.

Then the FI-GL users can clear both Clearing accounts against the proper actual  Bank GL . This will provide a full audit trail of intitial payments and returns.

I hope this helps.
