How to load the data from obsolete PSA version without loosing the data

Dear Experts,

We have a planning area which is completely time series KFs. We use this planning area to have the visibility of planning situation for previous 4 weeks in the past. We also do backup for this PA into the infocube.

We have added few more KFs to the PA. So we have to deactivate this PA in production before the corrections import. Not to loose the data; we did backup of this PA to the infocube. Transports imported into production and PA is activated back. Later we realized the mess during the backup. couple of locations were backed up twice meaning - LOC1, LOC2 were part of two info packages. Now the back up structure contains the double data for two locations.

This backup was done via Info packages and DTP to the target. Data is still there in PSA. We thought of deleting the additional data request; but the data souce was inactive. We replicated the PA data source as soon as PA is activated. We can't delete the data in PSA until data source is activated.

When we activate the data source; PSA table version gets changed. We were able to delete that duplicate request in PSA. But we can't load the data as it says - obsolete PSA table version.

It suggests to reload from the source or create a generic data source based on the old version table. Given the cutover time lines; second option is not feasible. and first option doesn't work as we have no data in source(Planning area deinitialized).

Question here? 😆 Has any one faced this kind of issue? It would have been nice to have a program or tool which copies data between the PSA table versions or at least any option during the DTP load to select the PSA versions.

Regards,

Reddy.
